Black Helmet Snail

These snails grow up to 3cm (size at sale around 1cm depending on stock) and do not breed in freshwater, so you will never be overun by offspring. The eat a tremendous amount of algae! The colour of the snail itself varies from brown to dark grey to black. As with most snails, we would advise to keep them in medium water with a minimum GH of at least 6 and a pH as close to neutral as possible to avoid shell damage.
